At the 18th IPMA Global Award Gala 2019 held in Merida, the winners of the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards and IPMA Individual Awards were announced.
“On a yearly basis, IPMA celebrates outstanding project management achievements by nominating and recognising individuals and projects. This global recognition supports individuals, projects and organisations that have achieved exemplary results in project management. Awards applications are evaluated by a group of dedicated assessors and judges based on our global Standards: IPMA ICB and IPMA PEB. Each application has been verified by groups of judges and teams of assessors dedicated in the search for tonights winners. Being nominated as finalist already means recognitions by project management peers. So a huge congratulations to all of you! I am very honoured to welcome you and open the 2019 IPMA Global Awards Gala and recognise the winners and outstanding contributors” – said IPMA President Jesus Martinez Almela at the opening of the Gala.
”For the 18th time, IPMA has awarded prizes to various projects which are contributing to the development of the project management field. All nominated projects are Project Management masterpieces. For the last couples of weeks you have had the opportunity to learn about the winning projects as the videos promoting them appeared on our social media channels regularly. We want the whole PM world to learn from the best case studies as presented by tonight’s nominees. We are proud to have here tonight the Project Teams from 11 countries, representing all continents. There were over 100 judges and assessors engaged in the awards processes. We will hand out 22 trophies in 9 categories tonight!” – said Martin Sedlmayer, IPMA Vice President – Products & Services in his welcome speech.
Project Managers, project teams and organisations from all over the world were called on stage – to receive recognition for their project management successes.
This year’s IPMA Award Gala was organised for the 18th time and hosted over 250 professionals from all over the world to celebrate personal successes, as well as the successes of their project teams and projects. During the event 22 trophies were handed out to the winners in 9 categories.
The IPMA Global Awards are prestigious awards, involving a large group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers acting as coordinators, trainers, assessors, team lead assessors and judges. The IPMA Global Awards comprises a thorough process in which groups of internationally renowned judges award prizes in different categories to organisations and/or project managers who have achieved outstanding project management results.
