Condolences on the recent passing of Dr Hari G. Soeparto, the Founder and President of the Indonesian Society of Project Management Professionals
Dear IPMA friends,
I would like to express my sincere condolences on the recent passing of Dr Hari G. Soeparto, the Founder and President of the Indonesian Society of Project Management Professionals. Let’s send our thoughts and prayers to his family at this difficult time. We cannot imagine how difficult this must be for us now, but please trust that we care about IAMPI.
Mr Hari G. Soeparto born in Kediri, at July 20, 1947, had established the IAMPI in the year 1999, and now this organization is being the first and the only national project management association in Indonesia.
He would do anything to make the organization strong and stronger. During his sickness on July 11, 2020, he still reminded us of the importance of discussion, brainstorming; He posted to WAG IAMPI “a real conflict is not existing in nature, only in the mind; So all conflicts can be settled by discussions or brainstorming and not by debates. Debates are about win or lose, however, a discussion is a rounding opinion, in rounding off some cut to get a real round. Conflict only happens if any hidden agenda”.
He was such a kind, patient, always remind us to keep governance and highly professional person with a gentle soul. He was very highly respected throughout the Indonesian professional communities and professions, and his good works changed the lives of many.
I remember the time when Mr Hari asked me to help him to join IAMPI in the year 1999 and encouraged all of IAMPI officers to establish a strong professional organization of Project Management in Indonesia. He also convinced me to be the secretary-general of IAMPI in the year 2008 – 2013. I am honoured to hold that position and strengthening the IAMPI with him, by joining the global professional project management organizations.
